Easy Honey Loaf
I wanted to share with you my delicious easy Honey Loaf, it’s half way between a honey bread and a cake (honey tea bread maybe?), a little squidgy, soft moist sticky and sweet, but not too sweet! It’s so delicious
It’s almost like a tea bread ( but without the tea!) Here’s my amazing tea loaf recipe for you
AND!! it contains no fat or eggs!! Boom xxx
Ingredients for your Easy Honey Loaf
-
Caster Sugar
Perfect for this honey bread and many more, finer than granulated. I use golden for a little more flavour but white is fine
-
Plain Flour
Helps to make your loaf cake to the perfect shape. This cake has the perfect crumb structure, so soft and very moist and a tiny bit chewy
-
Honey
I used runny honey (nothing special0 from the supermarket
-
Bicarbonate of Soda
Also known as baking soda, is a leavening agent that makes your hone loaf rise. It reacts with acidic ingredients in a recipe to produce carbon dioxide, which causes baked goods to rise. This recipe calls for one heaped teaspoon
-
Orange Zest (Or Lemon)
Adds a lovely flavour to your honey bread. You could also use lemon zest if you prefer

Serving suggestions for your loaf
This honey bread/cake has a nice dense texture, perfect on its own. But even better buttered with a cuppa
This lovely cake is sturdy enough for a lunch box too!
It’s moist and slightly sticky with a little bit of a chew
Up north!! It’s also good with a slice of cheese – oh yes it is! We love cheese on fruit bread and sweet bread
It’s delicious but not too ‘fancy.’ Do you know what I mean?
A good basic – enjoy
How to store your Easy Honey Cake
This cake is perfect for storing in a cake tin, tends to get a little stickier over a couple of days
This cake will keep in a tin for 3 days (if it lasts that long)
Can I freeze my Honey Loaf?
Yes you can.
What I do is cut into slice and wrap individually in cling film or foil and freeze – good for a couple of months
When you want your slices leave it thaw at room temperature
So go on have a bake of this Easy Honey Bread
It’s super easy and super lovely.
I’m sure you’ll love it too
